Urinary Tract Infection

With growing antibiotic resistance, adverse effects of antibiotics, clinicians walk a fine line, often facing patients, families, facility staff and sometimes colleagues requesting antibiotics. In the presentation I discuss how to approach these forces, based on research evidence.

I teach how to establish a UTI diagnosis, using McGeer or Loeb criteria, and how to read a urinalysis to help select the appropriate treatment.
